Most of the baseball caps in the market are made from high quality materials and tested for strength and reliability.  One of the most important parts of shopping for baseball caps should therefore be finding the right size for you.  Can you really find a right fitting cap?

Factors to Consider

Finding the right baseball cap size is just like buying any piece of clothing; you need to fit it to find the proper size for you.  Sometimes you need to fit different sizes to discover what is most comfortable for you.  There are also a couple of factors that must be considered in the selection process.

One of the things to consider is the purpose for which the baseball cap would be used.  Are you buying it for fashion or athletic purposes?  Second, what type of material would you prefer for your baseball cap?  Why is the material important?  Read on.

The Material

Each manufacturer claims to use proprietary technology in the production process.  However, regardless of the manufacturing process, the type of material used is almost the same.

Polyester is a type of synthetic material that is shrink resistant even when exposed to wet conditions.  So if you are choosing this type of material, you have to get the exact fit for your head.  This is likewise more preferred if your purpose in buying a baseball cap is for athletic use because even if you sweat the moisture will not affect the size.

Some baseball caps make use of a combination of wool and cotton.  The blend which is usually 70% wool and 30% cotton (or sometimes 100% wool) is known to shrink when it is exposed to moisture and the elements.  So if you choose this material, you need to compensate for the shrinkage to find the right size.  This type is also preferred if your purpose is purely for fashion.

Accurate Measurement

How can you get the most accurate measurement possible?  Get a measuring tape or a long piece of string enough to go around your head.  Of course you need to understand the margin of error involved when using a piece of string.

To get an accurate measurement, the tape or string must be placed around your head at the same level where you would wear the baseball cap.  The measuring tape must also remain flat and not twisted.  From the starting point (usually on your forehead), wrap the tape around and without any overlapping, record the circumference of your head.

Most reputable manufacturers of baseball caps would have a measurement or size chart.  The sizes are normally represented in ranges so choose where the size of your head falls between the range.  This should give you some room for potential shrinkage depending on the material you choose.

If you are using a string instead of a measuring tape, the most important thing is to be able to accurately mark the string to get the measurement.  Just like with the tape measure, make sure that the end does not overlap the start of the string.

You also need to take note of the stitching, which can cause fractional errors that can affect the overall fit of the cap.

Knowing all of these factors including how to measure accurately, you should have no problem finding the right baseball cap size for you.

It's easy to get started creating your website. Knowing some of the basics will help.

What is a Content Management System?

A content management system is software that allows you to create and manage webpages easily by separating the creation of your content from the mechanics required to present it on the web.

In this site, the content is stored in a database. The look and feel are created by a template. Joomla! brings together the template and your content to create web pages.

Logging in

To login to your site use the user name and password that were created as part of the installation process. Once logged-in you will be able to create and edit articles and modify some settings.

Creating an article

Once you are logged-in, a new menu will be visible. To create a new article, click on the "Submit Article" link on that menu.

The new article interface gives you a lot of options, but all you need to do is add a title and put something in the content area. To make it easy to find, set the state to published.

You can edit an existing article by clicking on the edit icon (this only displays to users who have the right to edit).

Template, site settings, and modules

The look and feel of your site is controlled by a template. You can change the site name, background colour, highlights colour and more by editing the template settings. Click the "Template Settings" in the user menu.

The boxes around the main content of the site are called modules. You can modify modules on the current page by moving your cursor to the module and clicking the edit link. Always be sure to save and close any module you edit.

You can change some site settings such as the site name and description by clicking on the "Site Settings" link.

More advanced options for templates, site settings, modules, and more are available in the site administrator.

Site and Administrator

Your site actually has two separate sites. The site (also called the front end) is what visitors to your site will see. The administrator (also called the back end) is only used by people managing your site. You can access the administrator by clicking the "Site Administrator" link on the "User Menu" menu (visible once you login) or by adding /administrator to the end of your domain name. The same user name and password are used for both sites.
